Employing older workers.... all change

From 1st October 2011, employers will not be able to force employees to retire because the default retirement age is to be phased out.

From 6th April 2011 employers will no longer be able to issue notices under the DRA procedure. This will mean that following this date employees may only be retired if it can be shown that the retirement was objective and justified in the circumstances. This will obviously add another hurdle for employers to jump.

If you would like to discuss this or any other employment issue with us then please feel free to call.
